I am originally from Dayton Ohio, where I grew up as the 7th of 8 children. I attended an all girls school, Julienne High School, before going to Wright State University. I earned my Medical Technology B.S. and came to Indianapolis for my first job at St. Vincent’s Hospital in the microbiology lab.
I met my husband when he was in law school in Indianapolis. The same year he graduated from law school, I started dental school. He was ready to take it easy and I was just starting the four most grueling years of my life. But we stuck together and were married my junior year of dental school. Seven years later we had our son, Will, followed two and a half years later by our daughter, Ellen. They are both currently in college.
Our leisure activities include boating and pot luck dinners with the neighbors. I really enjoy reading and have belonged to a neighborhood book club for almost 20 years now! I also enjoy going to IU volleyball games and shows at the IU auditorium. My husband and I are doing more travelling now that we are empty nesters, having in the last few years gone to a number of national parks, Rocky Mountain, Grand Teton., Yellowstone, Zion, Bryce and the Grand Canyon. There is so much to see and do here in our country and we are working on seeing it all!

I grew up on the east side of Indianapolis and graduated from Warren Central High School in 1986. Unsure of what to do after high school I began working for our family dentist as an assistant. He introduced me to all aspects of dentistry and encouraged me to further my education. During this time I married my husband Doug and we relocated to the south side of Indy and then later to Greenwood where we now reside.
I attended IU School of Dentistry for Dental Hygiene and graduated from the program in 1991 with an A.S. degree in Dental Hygiene. After practicing dental hygiene for several years, I decided to pursue dental school. I completed my prerequisite courses and was accepted to Indiana University School of Dentistry.
After graduation in 1999 I practiced for 2 years before joining Franklin Family Dentistry in 2001 as an owner and partner. In practicing dentistry I enjoy working with patients to find the best treatment for their particular dental needs and to help people become more comfortable in coming to the dentist. When I can make someone smile and feel good about their smile it is very rewarding.
I have two children, Jessica and Jacob and follow their participation in soccer, football, track, and swimming. When not at games I enjoy being outside walking with our dogs, boating, paddle boarding and running.

Graduated DePauw University 1999
Graduated Indiana University School of Dentistry 2003

Although I am a native of “The Region” also known as northwest Indiana, I spent much of my childhood in Heidelberg, Germany, and love the culture, history and the amazing food there! I returned to Indiana and completed my undergraduate studies at DePauw University and received my B.A. degree in Biology in 1999. Knowing from the age of 5 that I wanted to be a dentist, I continued straight on to Indiana University School of Dentistry and graduated with my DDS degree in 2003. Upon graduation I entered into a dental residency program at Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin to further train and work in a hospital setting as a dentist. While I loved living and working in beautiful Madison, I decided to head south to the warmer climate of central Indiana.
After practicing in Indianapolis for 7 years, I joined Franklin Family Dentistry in 2011 as an owner and partner. I enjoy providing comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages, with a focus on preventive and restorative care. I will spend the time necessary to educate you and provide all of your treatment options. I feel tremendous pride in creating beautiful smiles that patients are proud to show, and will provide care with the utmost attention to detail and a gentle touch. I am married, and my husband Jared and I have two children, Carson and Sydney, and two Labrador retrievers, Wrigley and Tucker. In my free time, I enjoy running and training for half marathons, gardening, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Akron, Ohio is where I was born, raised and attended Mt. Vernon Academy, a Christian Boarding High School. I started studying Education at Andrews University and transferred to Columbia Union College. I met my “forever” husband, Wayne in 1970, and were married in 1972 in Hyattsville Maryland, then moved to Greenwood where I began studying at Indiana University. We raised two children, a son Beau and a daughter Heather. When our daughter began grade school I returned to IU, changed my major and applied for Dental Hygiene at Indiana University. I graduated from the program in May 1986 and began working July 1st 1986, at this office, my “forever” second home which is now called Franklin Family Dentistry.
Flower gardening and sewing are my favorite hobbies, while spending time with my family is my #1 priority. My husband and I are involved in our church activities. We have a Keeshond dog named Lucy. We enjoy living in the country in a woodland area of Mooresville.
This is where I found my passion in my field of dental hygiene and I have come to know the patients as if they were my family and enjoy every day educating them for a lifetime of dental wellness. I stay abreast of current developments in dentistry by attending many continuing education courses yearly. My Philosophy is to live by the golden Rule. I believe that, “people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

I grew up in a small rural farming community in Northern Indiana. Dentistry has always fascinated me. I began working for the local dentist during my high school years to see if I would enjoy a dental career. At the time, they did not have a dental hygienist and so they encouraged me to pursue a career in dental hygiene. After gradating in 1983 from Frontier High School, I headed to the big city of Indianapolis to begin my education in dentistry. After Graduation from IUSD, I returned to my hometown’s local dental office.
In 1989, I married my husband, David. Moving back to Indianapolis and settling on the Southside of Indy, I continued dental hygiene, working for a periodontist, a specialist in treating gum disease. After the arrival of our son, Kevin in 1994, I joined the Franklin Family Dentistry. I enjoy the small town feel of Franklin, it reminds me of home. I have been very blessed to get to know the people and privileged to serve in the community. I plan to remain dedicated to helping the patients at FFD maintain their dental health.
